First reads always make an impression. The first book you read will build the habit and create an interest in reading. If you don’t like that book, you may not pick up a book for reading ever again (which will be the saddest thing possible). So, here is a list of a few books that I know almost everyone likes. They are of various different genres. They have easy language, great stories and are hard to put down once you start reading them. Continue reading for the best novels for beginners
1- Eleanor & Park
This is one of the sweetest romance novels, I have come across. It is a story about two kids, Eleanor and Park. Their story starts when a new girl with a messed up family, mismatched clothes and unruly red hair joins the same school as Park. The story that starts with sharing the same bus seat and magazines and ends with them falling in love. Read to experience this beautiful romantic story. This is one of the best novels for beginners in my opinion.
2- The Palace of Illusions
Almost everyone has heard and read the Mahabharata. Now, think about it from Draupadi’s perspective. Would not it be interesting to read about it? This is what is exactly in this book. Read to know how she felt about everything around her. Read to know how her friendship with Krishna. Read to know how a single woman among hundreds of men stood alone and strong.
3- Remember me
Sophie Kinsella has to be one of my favourite authors of all time. She writes really fun stories. ‘Remember me ‘is also such a quick, light-hearted book.
What happens when you wake up in a hospital and all of a sudden you are not who you used to be? Confused. That is what Lexi was.
When the twenty-eight-year-old Lexi Smart wakes up in a London hospital, she’s in for a big surprise. Her teeth are perfect. Her body is toned. Her handbag is Vuitton. Somehow Lexi went from a twenty-five-year-old working girl to a corporate big shot. Her new life, it turns out, comes complete with secrets, schemes, and intrigue. How on earth did all this happen? Will she ever remember? And what will happen when she does?
4- Then she was gone
This is a book that I completed in one sitting. It is so frigging interesting. Every chapter makes you wonder more and more. Trust me once you start reading this one, you won’t be keeping it down until completely read.
5- The Flat Share
‘The flat share’ is a sweet yet thought-provoking book. It, at many moments, will make you think about what is actually important. It is about how a wrong relationship impacts your mental health. It is about how two people who have never met fall for each other through notes (small letters). Whilst the story is fluffy and cute, the underline is serious and includes emotional abuse, stalking and struggles.
The whole writing felt so realistic and was worth reading. So, that’s all about this. I hope you choose one of these books and give it a try.
